One community - one theater...

And an affinity for the dramatic!

Derek Burwell has had the pleasure of working with various community theater projects for the last 17 years. Highlighted roles have been Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, Leslie in Love, Sex, and the IRS, Puck in Bard in the Yard, and Roma in Glengarry Glen Ross. Mr. Burwell has recently been seen in GLP's The Odd Couple as Felix, Agador in The Birdcage and in Poe & Pints. He appreciates theater for the opportunity to examine this great experiment of life from different angles, and best of all gets to share what he finds with others. When not enjoying a romp through the lands of make believe, Derek tortures dirt for a living at a local mine.

Derek Burwell reprises his role as Puck for the fourth time in Bard in the Yard 4 and adds his skills to Measure for Measure as Escalus.

From an early age, Laura loved to perform. She danced competitively throughout her childhood and put on weekly (if not daily) plays for her parents along with her siblings and neighborhood friends. Since then, her love for the theatre has only continued to grow. She has been a part of several Great Basin College theatre productions and other plays throughout the community. She feels very lucky to be able to do something she's so passionate about with one of the people she loves the most, her husband. She'd like to thank her friends and family for continuously supporting her and helping out with baby Sampson during rehearsals.

Mrs. Cdebaca brings her talents to the roles of Salanio in The Merchant of Venice, Isabella in Measure for Measure, and Quince in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Nick Cdebaca has been doing theatre for the past 6 years. Sometimes the divine forces coalesce and he can act with his wife. You can find him vigorously walking around mountains in his off time.

Nick Cdebaca returns to Bard in the Yard and with his skills brings life to the roles of Corin in As You Like It, Angelo in Measure for Measure, and Theseus in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Dawn started doing professional theater in 2005 with the Arizona Renaissance Festival. He stage managed for five years before forming his own performance group with his wife. In 2012 Dawn moved to Elko where he began more traditional theater. Thanks to a high school English teacher (RIP Scott Schaefer) he has been obsessed with Shakespeare over half his life. In Elko he has played in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Camelot, White Christmas, and directed As You Like It and his own one-act The Pregnancy Test with the Elko Theater Coalition. He plans to continue to bring life to these magical 400 year old words throughout Nevada.

Dawn brings his considerable knowledge of Shakespeare and his acting talents to King Lear as King Lear, and Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Heidi DuSoleil discovered a love of Shakespeare watching Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing, and the love affair has continued ever since. She was lucky enough to get to perform Hero in that same play, and has performed in every installment of Bard in the Yard since its inception. Her recent credits include Poe & Pints, White Christmas, From Broadway with Love, and the Speaking Out monologues.

Bard in the Yard veteran and local talent Heidi DuSoleil takes on the roles of Touchstone in As You Like It, Tamora in Titus Andronicus, Lucio in Measure for Measure, and Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Albert has been a part of the theatre community for just about a year now. Some favored local roles the actress has undertaken include Montresor from Poe and Pints: The Cask of Amontillado, Fantine from Les Miserables, and Belle from The Last U.S. Mail Stage Robbery. By day, you can find her educating the local youth on the importance of health, but, by night, (when she’s not playing on a stage or appreciating the arts in her local community) she can be found imbibing in copious amounts of coffee, reading books she never got around to while attending Texas Tech University.

Meghan is challenged with using her skills to breath life into the roles of Salarino in The Merchant of Venice, Lavinia in Titus Andronicus, Orlando in As You Like It, and Pyramus in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

At the ripe age of 22 Caleb Micheli made his theatrical debut in 2017 starring as Albert in Ghost Light Productions’ The Birdcage. This Bard in the Yard will be his first of hopefully many attempts at bringing Shakespeare’s words to life. The main reason Caleb got into theatre was that he loves to entertain and is constantly telling stories or cracking jokes. Also his fiancé coerced him into trying it out. Caleb believes the earth is actually a giant vampire that feeds off of people’s hopes and dreams so while not performing Caleb gets paid to stab the earth repeatedly with wooden stakes therefore making everyone’s lives better. You’re welcome.

He has participated in several productions since this time namely The Pirates of Penzance, On the Razzle, and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. He plans to continue working in this field to expand his skill and knowledge of telling stories through the visual arts.
