Bard in the Yard V - Bottoms Up!

DEREK BURWELL

Derek Burwell has had the pleasure of working with various community theater projects for the last 21 years. Highlighted roles have been Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, Leslie in Love, Sex, and the IRS, Puck in Bard in the Yard, and Roma in Glengarry Glen Ross. Mr. Burwell has recently been seen in GLP's The Odd Couple as Felix, Agador in The Birdcage and in Poe & Pints. He appreciates theater for the opportunity to examine this great experiment of life from different angles, and best of all gets to share what he finds with others. When not enjoying a romp through the lands of make believe, Derek tortures dirt for a living at a local mine.

Derek Burwell reprises his role as Puck for the fifth time in Bard in the Yard 4 and adds his skills to A Midsummer Night's Dream.

LAURA CDEBACA

From an early age, Laura loved to perform. She danced competitively throughout her childhood and put on weekly (if not daily) plays for her parents along with her siblings and neighborhood friends. Since then, her love for the theatre has only continued to grow. She has been a part of several Great Basin College theatre productions and other plays throughout the community. She feels very lucky to be able to do something she's so passionate about with one of the people she loves the most, her husband. She'd like to thank her friends and family for continuously supporting her and helping out with baby Sampson during rehearsals.

Mrs. Cdebaca brings her talents to the roles of Maria in Love's Labours Lost, Venus in Venus and Adonis, and Moth in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

NICK CDEBACA

Nick Cdebaca has been doing theatre for the past 9 years. Sometimes the divine forces coalesce and he can act with his wife. You can find him vigorously walking around mountains in his off time.

Nick Cdebaca returns to Bard in the Yard and with his skills brings life to the roles of Dogberry in Much Ado About Nothing, the Porter in Macbeth, and Adonis in Venus and Adonis.

DIANNA FROMHERZ

Diann Fromherz discovered a love of Shakespeare watching Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing, and the love affair has continued ever since. She was lucky enough to get to perform Hero in that same play, and has performed in every installment of Bard in the Yard since its inception. Her recent credits include Poe & Pints, White Christmas, From Broadway with Love, and the Speaking Out monologues.

Bard in the Yard veteran and local talent Diann Fromherz takes on the roles of Kate in The Taming of the Shrew, Ariel in The Tempest, and Quince in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

MEGHAN MICHELI

Meghan Micheli made her Elko debut with Silver Stage Players in Bard in the Yard. The homegrown Texas native has been on a stage since the tender age of 6, playing in various roles from a British, Tea-Drinking Dragon to a mother during the Spanish Revolution. Some favored local roles the actress has undertaken include Montresor from Poe and Pints: The Cask of Amontillado, Fantine from Les Miserables, and Belle from The Last U.S. Mail Stage Robbery. By day, you can find her educating the local youth on the importance of health, but, by night, (when she’s not playing on a stage or appreciating the arts in her local community) she can be found imbibing in copious amounts of coffee, reading books she never got around to while attending Texas Tech University.

Meghan is challenged with using her skills to breath life into the roles of the Princess in Love's, Labours Lost, Caliban in The Tempest, and Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

DONALD JONES

Donald has been in the Elko area since 1995. His first show was in 1998, playing Neville Landless in The Mystery of Edwin Drood with SSP. In 2005, Donald played Conrade and created the set for Much Ado About Nothing. He has been involved, as an actor or technician, in almost all of the SSP shows since then. Among others, stage manager for the children’s theatre production of Land of the Dragon, played the Priest in The Man of La Mancha, technical director in Ghost Light Productions' Poe & Pints, set design for Glengarry Glen Ross, and participating in Bard in the Yard. Mr. Jones has directed such shows as The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Princess and the Enchanted Swans, and The Pirates of Penzance.

Don uses his talents to tackle the roles of Sir Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night and Mustardseed from A Midsummer Night's Dream.

CALEB TAPIA

Caleb Tapia has been an active member of the theatre community since 2011 with the first installment of Bard in the Yard and hasn’t been able to get enough. He’s been in numerous performances including Poe & Pints, each Bard in the Yard, and so much more. Caleb has been an active Board member for Ghost Light Productions since December 2015 as their Educational Outreach director. He teaches children’s theatre, hosts theatre workshops, and even recently assistant directed As You Like It this last summer.
